GLOCK Low Profile Carry Course

Increase your knowledge and skills with concealed carry techniques for everyday carry. This course does not address Federal or State laws governing the use of deadly force.

This training course is not recommended for those who have not attended an official training program. This training course is designed for public safety professionals, military personnel, and law abiding citizens who want to improve their skills while carrying a concealed GLOCK pistol. This course is a dynamic shooting course that requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, present your pistol from a concealed holster, shoot on the move, move into and recover quickly from the kneeling and prone positions.

Required Prerequisites and Student Equipment

  • To be eligible to take the GLOCK Low Profile Carry Course, you must meet one of the following requirements: Active/Retired law enforcement / Military, Private security, possess a current Concealed Carry Permit from your state, or provide a Statement of NO Criminal History from a Law Enforcement agency.
  • The student will provide a GLOCK pistol with no modification other than sights or external cosmetics. Pistols with modifications that could render the pistol less safe than it was originally produced are not allowed.
  • The student will provide a quality non-collapsible, belt supported Paddle, Belt Slide or Inside the Waistband holster which covers the trigger and trigger guard. Individuals with equipment deemed unsafe by the GLOCK Instructor will not be allowed to participate in the course.
    • UNAUTHORIZED HOLSTERS
      a. Shoulder or Cross Draw Holsters of any kind
      b. Small of the Back Holsters
      c. Ankle Holsters
      d. Collapsible Holsters of any kind
  • The student will provide a magazine carrier(s) with or without flaps, capable of carrying two magazines.
  • The student will provide a minimum of 3 magazines for 15 round or more capacity. Minimum of 5 Magazines for 10 round or less magazine capacity
  • The student will provide a belt capable of supporting the weight of the holster, pistol, and magazines.
  • The student will provide a safe cover garment, such as button down shirts, pullover shirts, jackets, windbreakers, etc. No cover garments with excess buckles and draw strings that may create unsafe firearms manipulation.
  • The student will provide eye protection, hearing protection, and a hat or ball cap with a brim or bill to prevent fired cases from landing behind the shooters glasses.
  • The student will provide 1,000 rounds of factory loaded ammunition of the proper caliber.
  • GLOCK Professional, INC. representatives reserve the right to dismiss students who do not possess the basic skills
    required or demonstrate unsafe firearms handling procedures.

 

Waiver

If this will be your first time shooting at Hobbs Island Shooting Range, you must sign a waiver before your visit. This must be done online by following the appropriate link for either an adult waiver or a child waiver. The link will open a new tab when selected.

Firearms Transfers

Transfer Policies
  • HISR will not accept any transfer containing multiples of the same firearm/receiver
  • HISR will not conduct any transfer without a current Alabama driver’s license
  • HISR will not conduct any transfer for an out of state recipient
  • Private Party transfers will only be handled for HISR members and the seller MUST be present at time of transfer or include a copy of their license (if shipped)
  • If you are delayed, you will still be responsible for the transfer fee at the time of the background check.
  • If you are denied by NICS, you will be responsible for the transfer fee AND the cost to return the firearm
  • HISR DOES NOT ACCEPT FORM 3 (NFA) TRANSFERS FROM OTHER DEALERS AT THIS TIME. Please check Silencer Shop for your needs.
  • For HISR members, transfers for Class III items conducted without the use of Silencer Shop are available upon special request and start at $150.
  • ALL STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS APPLY.
Transfer Process
  • You MUST notify HISR in advance of any transfer by emailing rangeoffice@thehisr.com.
  • We MUST receive your transferring dealer’s FFL prior to the transfer of any firearm.
  • Transfers will be handled by appointment only.
  • Once your transfer has been initiated, please DO NOT CALL OR COME IN to check on the status of your transfer. Doing so will delay the process for others and result in an additional charge.
  • Once we process receipt of your transfer item(s), WE WILL CONTACT YOU to coordinate pick-up. Please make sure your dealer includes your information in the shipment.
  • Firearms will be kept without additional charge for five (5) days. A storage fee will be applied for each additional day.
